Tomato Pasta Salad







Cut cherry tomatoes in half before adding to the salad.


Fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and pasta are the three primary, authentic Italian ingredients used to prepare a satisfying tomato pasta salad. The simple salad is perfect as an accompaniment to a meal or even as a light dinner in itself when paired alongside warm garlic bread. With minimal prep work and ingredients, this fresh and healthy tomato pasta salad can be on the table in just a little longer than it takes to boil a pot of pasta.


Instructions


1. Cook the pasta to al dente, according to the package instructions. Drain the pot and allow the pasta to cool.








2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the Italian dressing, basil and the desired amount of salt and pepper.


3. Add tomatoes and mozzarella to the dressing and toss well.


4. Add the pasta to the tomatoes, mozzarella and dressing.


5. Toss the salad and serve. You may also seal and refrigerate the pasta salad and serve it cool at a later time.
