Games To Play At A 50th Birthday Party

Happy birthday!

When you're planning a party for someone who is turning 50, games can add life and laughter to the occasion. Choose games both the celebrant and guests will enjoy. Remember to keep the games wholesome if you plan to include children or underage guests.

The Price Is Right

Choose at least five contestants and give each a piece of paper and pen. Play a party version of "The Price is Right" by asking the price of some items commonly sold during the birth year of the guest of honor. Anyone who guesses a price correctly gets five points and anyone who guesses very closely gets one point. The contestant who has the most points at the end of the game wins a prize. Play this game individually or in teams to have more people join in on the fun.

Trivial Pursuit

This game requires contestants to answer questions about the guest of honor and show how well they know him. Prepare questions of varying difficulty; ask the guest of honor to help in the preparation so you can ask some things that may not be common knowledge. The guest who gets the most correct answers wins a prize.

Name that Tune

Record some songs that came out in the same decade the celebrant was born. Play a line or two of each tune for the contestants and have them guess the song. Provide each contestant with a bell or buzzer and have them ring in and answer one at a time. A correct title is worth one point, and contestants can sing along to earn an additional point. The contestant with the most points at the end of the game wins a prize.
