Make Boxed Pancakes Fluffy

Fluffy pancakes melt in your mouth.

Pancakes are common in many cultures. They can be served with syrup, fruit, meat, jam or chocolate chips. There are several versions of pancake recipes, but you can use a commercial boxed mix to save time. To make boxed pancakes more light and airy, alter the batter's ingredients and preparation methods to produce light, fluffy pancakes every time.

Instructions

1. Mix the pancake batter according to the box instructions, substituting half of the water or milk with tonic or carbonated water. For example, if the pancake mix calls for 2 cups water, use 1 cup carbonated water and 1 cup water. If your mix calls for milk, use buttermilk instead of regular milk.

2. Whisk the batter until all the clumps are broken down. The pancake batter should be smooth and thick. If the batter does not stick to the whisk, add 1 tbsp. of additional batter mix at a time until it does.

3. Cover the prepared batter with plastic wrap and leave it to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. When you remove the plastic wrap after the time is up, do not stir the batter.

4. Heat your skillet and make the pancakes as instructed on the box. Serve immediately.
