Make Grandma'S Mandarin Orange Cake







Grandma's Mandarin Orange Cake is a delicious alternative to the traditional cake offerings. Very moist and flavorful, it is a nice addition to your menu, whether a luncheon, dinner, picnic or special occasion. Easy to make, it is sure to become a favorite!


Instructions


Ingredients


1. Arrange your ingredients including: 2 cups white sugar2 cups flour2 teaspoons baking soda½ teaspoon salt2 eggs2 cans (11-15 ounces) mandarin oranges, well drainedTopping¾ cup brown sugar3 tablespoons milk 2 tablespoons butterWhipped cream or whipped topping








2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat eggs in large bowl. Add white sugar, baking soda, and salt; stir until well blended. Slowly stir in flour. Add oranges and mix on low speed for four minutes, or stir thoroughly by hand approximately four to five minutes.


3. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes till medium/dark brown. Cake should spring back slightly when done.


4. Combine brown sugar, milk, and butter in saucepan while the cake is baking. Slowly bring to a boil, stirring often (do not scorch). Pour over hot cake as soon as it comes out of oven.


5. Let cake cool. Serve with whipped cream or whipped topping. May be served slightly warm.
