Make use of a room corner to hold your stemware.
A corner wine glass rack takes any room corner and turns it into a decorative and functional area. Not only will this type of rack save on space, but it will also save time from digging into kitchen cabinets. One minimalistic design will provide a rack that's 8 feet high, and holds nine glasses. Setup time for this project is short, and the materials list requires only a few supplies. In less than an hour, a beautiful oak wine glass holder can be added to your dining room or kitchen.
Instructions
1. Set the table saw blade at a 45-degree angle away from the fence. Rip the edge of the oak with the oak board between the fence and the blade. Rip the board on both sides so the end of the board forms a trapezoid. Only cut the corners, leaving the board its original width.
2. Drill a 3/8-inch hole ¾ inch from the center of the board, and another on the other side ¾ of an inch from the center. Start two inches from one end. Measuring 9 inches down from the two holes, repeat this process and continue until there are as many pairs of holes as there are glasses. Eight feet will hold nine 9-inch glasses.
3. Cut the oak dowel into 18 4-inch pieces and glue into each wider side of the board. Let dry.
4. Pre-drill two holes on each end of the oak board and screw into the corner where you would like your wine glass rack.
