Cook Shrimp Kabobs

Skewered shrimp kabobs take minutes to cook.

Make your own kabobs by threading marinated shrimp and cut peppers or onions onto skewers. Shrimp kabobs are also available uncooked from some seafood markets. The shrimp and vegetables on those prepared kabobs have already been seasoned and skewered, and all you have to do is cook them. For the fullest flavor of the shrimp, grill your kabobs. The skewers prove beneficial in this cooking method as they keep the tiny morsels from falling between the grates on the grill.

Instructions

1. Preheat half of the grill burners to medium heat or move the charcoals to one half of the grill.

2. Place a drip pan under the unheated side of the grill.

3. Soak a paper towel with cooking oil.

4. Hold the oiled towel with tongs, and use it to wipe down the grill grates over the drip pan.

5. Arrange the shrimp kabobs on the oiled grates over the drip pan with at least 2 inches of space between the kabobs.

6. Close the grill and cook the kabobs for three minutes.

7. Lift the grill lid and turn the kabobs over using tongs. Lower the lid and continue to grill the shrimp kabobs for another three to four minutes, or until the shrimp begins to curl and turn pink.
