Avocados are highly nutritious.
Avocados are healthy for your heart, help prevent various cancers and can be used in the preparation of numerous dips and recipes. Once an avocado is cut open, its insides will quickly brown if steps are not taken to preserve the fruit from the air. Storing an avocado after cutting it requires some basic materials to keep the fruit fresh.
Instructions
1. Slice the avocado deep enough down the middle with a knife to feel the pit against the blade.
2. Run the blade all the way around the avocado length-wise until you can separate the two halves.
3. Split the avocado and use the side that doesn't have the pit in it. The other side is what you'll be storing.
4. Cut open a lemon and squeeze the juice over the avocado with the pit still in it. The lemon juice helps prevent the avocado from rotting and the pit protects the center of the fruit.
5. Seal the avocado inside a plastic bag and remove as much air as possible. Air accelerates the rotting process.
6. Place the bagged avocado into the fridge. It should remain good for about another two days.
