Spiced rum drinks set a festive mood at holiday parties and are easily made at home. You may, however, need to purchase additional mixers and perform basic cooking tasks, like bringing your drink to a boil during the mixing process. Hot Buttered Rum
Hot buttered rum takes some time to prepare, but the sugary warmth can be worth the effort. Cream together 2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar, 1/2 cup soft butter, 1/4 cup honey, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg, 1/8 tsp. ground cloves and a pinch of salt. Add 3/4 cup spiced rum to the mixture, followed by 2 cups of boiling water. Pour into mugs and garnish with cinnamon sticks. Recipe serves four.

Eggnog is a classic holiday drink to which spiced rum adds a subtle kick. Separate 6 eggs and beat the yolks. Add a half cup of sugar to the yolks. Mix in 1 qt. of milk, 1 pt. of cream and 3 oz. of spiced rum. Beat the egg whites, then fold them into the mixture. Grate fresh nutmeg over the beverages. Serves 6.
