Spend some time with the kids this holiday season and build an edible snow village. Design and build your own village using easy to find ingredients, without any cooking or baking required. Create your own stores, houses and even the landscape of the town and then enjoy eating the pieces throughout the season.
Instructions
1. Place one cup of frosting into a small mixing bowl. Add 1/4 teaspoon of cream of tarter to the frosting and mix well. Adding cream of tarter helps the frosting to harden, which will hold your house together.
2. Spoon the frosting into a plastic zipper bag and seal the bag. Use scissors to snip off one corner of the bag.
3. Use graham crackers to build a rectangle shaped house. The house should measure approximately 5 inches long by 3 inches wide. Use two graham crackers for each side of the house and one-half of a graham cracker for each end of the house. Glue each of the pieces together using the frosting glue.
4. Glue along the top edge of the rectangle. Lay two additional graham crackers across the top of the house to create a roof.
5. Decorate the house using small candy. Use the frosting to glue the candy to the graham crackers. Repeat to make several buildings for the snow village. Decorate each building differently.
6. Position the buildings into a village onto a tray or foil covered cardboard sheet. Decorate the tray using the remaining frosting to create snow on the "ground" and the rooftop of the house. Use candy to create a main street, trees and perhaps even cars.
