Make Jordan Almonds







Jordan almonds are sweet pastel-colored snacks, coated with a sugar crust. Learn make fondant, the pastry staple of wedding cakes, and cover almonds with fondant to create beautiful Jordan almonds.

Making Jordan Almonds


1. Purchase fondant from a specialty kitchen store such as Sur La Table. It is also often available at stores such as Michaels Craft Stores or Wal-Marts. You might be able to order it from a local bakery and it is available at many online sites.








2. Melt a generous two cups of fondant in a pot over low heat until it turns to a smooth liquid. Add foodsafe food coloring a few drops at a time, or you can use white fondant.


3. Drop four to five almonds at a time into the pot and turn with a spatula or fork to coat evenly.


4. Remove almonds one at a time and shake off excess fondant with a fork. Place almonds on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper or on a cooling rack and let the fondant harden into a candy shell.


5. Turn over to allow other side to cool. Almonds may be stored in an airtight container or gift bags when cool, and excess unheated fondant can be wrapped in plastic wrap or stored in an airtight container.
