Write down
notes about your wine purchases for reference at a later date.
If you drink a lot of wine, you may want to consider making a wine book to record your reactions to each wine. It can be difficult to remember which wine paired well with a particular food, which made a good white or red table wine, or what that dessert wine or champagne you once had tasted like. By recording each bottle you taste, you create a reference that will come in handy next time you need to choose a wine for dinner or a special occasion.
Instructions
1. Create a template with word processing software, and include a line for the date of purchase, name of the wine and vintage year.
2. Create larger sections for notes on the color and appearance of the wine, the taste and smell, and a rating.
3. Create a final section for notes on pairings. Write down what you were eating when you tasted
4. Save the template and print out several pages. Punch each page and insert it into the binder. Be vigilant about updating the book each time you try a wine. If you buy in bulk, enter each bottle at the time of purchase, then enter the rest of the information when you open individual bottles.
