Origin
Pinot Grigio is a cousin of the famous Pinot Noir wine. This wine is an Italian wine, white or light in color and originates from the Northern region of the country. The grapes used in the production of this wine are picked early on, prior to ripeness, in order to achieve its crisp taste.
Pairing and Uses
This wine is largely a cocktail wine and is served at parties and celebrations, such as anniversaries or weddings. This wine should not be served with acidic foods such as oranges or tomatoes as the flavors will clash and cause a bitterness. This wine is also ideal for dinner parties where light meat such as chicken is served or with dishes that contain seafood.
Aging
Drink Pinot Grigio when it is young as the flavor is more crisp. This is one wine that you do not want to allow to age. One you purchase they wine, plan on drinking or serving it in the near future.
