Make A Low Sugar Pecan Pie

Reduce the sugar by 1/3rd or 1/2 to make a low-sugar pecan pie.

According to the National Pecan Shellers Association, pecan trees are the only nut tree native to North America. Pecans have high nutritional value, and have grown in popularity over the years and are frequently used in baking. Pecan pies are a traditional Southern U.S. dessert. The typical recipe calls for dark corn syrup and brown sugar combined, however you can use less sugar or substitute sugar altogether with alternative natural sweeteners. Sometimes trial and error is the only way to get the ideal results, but you can use a basic recipe to get you started.

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Gather all your mixing and baking items together.

2. Melt the stick of butter and let it cool to lukewarm. Stir in sugar and mix it together well.

3. Beat the eggs and add them to the sugar and butter mixture. Stir in the vinegar.

4. Add the pecans and blend all the ingredients together thoroughly. Scoop them from the bowl into the pie shell.

5. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until the top of the pecans are evenly browned. Remove from oven and let the pie stand at least 30 minutes before serving.
