Cheeses Similar To Feta

Feta adds a hint of softness to a crunchy salad.

Feta cheese is one of the oldest types of Greek cheeses. This food adds a hint of tangy salt-like flavor to salads and other dishes. The soft, chewy yet crumbly texture adds to the appeal of feta cheese. Several types of cheeses are similar in texture or taste such as blue cheese. Feta is mainly made from goat's milk, but sometimes feta is derived from cow or sheep's milk.

All types of blue cheeses have blue veins running through the cheese though, which is different than feta as it is white or off white. Like feta, blue cheese is also made from cow or goat's milk, however Scottish blue cheese is made from ewe's (female sheep) milk. The blue-green color is from mold grown in the cheese.
