Make Broccoli Cauliflower Salad

Broccoli doesn't have to be boring.

Broccoli cauliflower salad is perfect for summer barbeques and picnics, and it offers a refreshing change from the usual salad offerings. It's also a great way to sneak in some nutrient-rich veggies for those who usually turn up their nose.

Instructions

1. Cut florets from the broccoli and cauliflower heads into bite size pieces. Place into a strainer and rinse thoroughly. Set aside in large bowl.

2. Cut 1/2 of a red onion into bite-size pieces. Add to broccoli and cauliflower mix.

3. In a small bowl, combine the mayo, sugar and vinegar. Pour the mixture over the broccoli and cauliflower mixture, and stir until well coated.

4. Cut bacon into bite size pieces and place into a frying pan. Cook over medium heat until it reaches the desired crispness. Drain excess grease.

5. Add 1 cup of shredded cheese and the cooked bacon to the salad mixture and mix thoroughly. Chill until you're ready to serve.
