Make Mashed Potatoes Sculptures

You can persuade your children to eat their mashed potatoes by transforming the food into edible sculpture. What was once just a boring glob on their plate, can suddenly change into a horse, robot or action figure. Follow these steps.

Instructions

1. Read the instructions on prepare the instant mashed potatoes. Prepare them accordingly in a bowl.

2. Beat 2 egg yolks into the prepared mashed potatoes.

3. Grease a baking dish with butter and pour the mashed potato mixture into the dish.

4. Mold the mashed potatoes into shapes (animals, faces, robots, trees, mountains) by using toothpicks, teaspoons, forks and Popsicle sticks as modeling tools. During Christmas, you might use holiday molds. The possibilities are endless so let your imagination run wild.

5. Slightly beat the egg whites. Using a pastry brush, spread them onto each of the mashed potato sculptures.

6. Bake the mashed potato sculptures in the oven at 350 degrees until they are brown and glistening.

7. Cool for just a short while before serving. Remember, they will be hot. Eat the mashed potato sculptures with dinner, and listen to the giggles as these figures quickly vanish from your children's plates.
