Keep Lasagna Noodles From Sticking

Lasagna is a classic Italian dish that is beloved in many homes. Though somewhat tricky to prepare, the time and effort is well worth the result of a piping hot, homemade lasagna. One of the more difficult parts of preparing a lasagna is cooking the noodles correctly so that they don't stick together. By keeping a few tips in mind, you can cook perfect lasagna noodles every time.

Instructions

1. Boil a large pot of water, lightly salted. Add a tablespoon of olive oil or vegetable oil. This will help to keep the noodles from sticking together.

2. Place the lasagna noodles in the boiling water and cook until just tender. Be careful not to overcook. They should still be slightly firm so they do not overcook while in the oven. Stir the noodles frequently as they cook to keep them from clumping together in the boiling pot.

3. Drain the noodles and rinse with cool water. The rinsing process will remove any residual starch and stop the cooking process.

4. Lay the noodles flat in a single layer between two damp towels to keep them from drying out while you prepare the other ingredients. If you are immediately ready to use the noodles, place them in your casserole dish and finish preparations according to your recipe.
