Store Zucchini Flowers

Plan on preparing your zucchini flowers soon after purchase.

One look at the delicate bloom of a zucchini flower can cause a foodie to salivate in anticipation of the special dish that uses this ingredient. After purchasing and successfully hiding the blooms from your drooling friends, it is important to store them properly to keep them at their best. A wilted zucchini blossom can effectually ruin an intended dish. Put these tasty flowers under lock and key and in a protected place until you are ready to use them.

Instructions

1. Wet several paper towels and wring out the extra moisture until they are slightly damp.

2. Place the zucchini blossoms on a single layer of the damp paper towels. Cover them loosely in more damp paper towels.

3. Put the wrapped flowers in a plastic freezer bag and seal closed. Place blossoms in the fridge. Do not place items on top of the flowers as they can be easily crushed. Use the flowers within a day or two after purchase.
