Make White Trash Party Mix

Breakfast cereals and snack foods are the foundation for a delicious sweet snack.

Friends and family enjoy snacking on finger foods at holiday parties, birthday parties and sports-themed parties. Cereal-based snack mixes have been popular salty snacks for many years. Now those same homemade cereal snack mixes take a sweet turn with White Trash Party Mix. White Trash Party Mix is a delicious mixture of crunchy textures and sweet and salty flavors. Mix up a batch to serve as a snack at your next party.

Instructions

1. Wash out and thoroughly dry an extra-large, empty popcorn tin. Use the kind that's popular around holidays or sports seasons and often comes with three flavors of popcorn. This tin will be large enough for you to mix and store your White Trash Party Mix.

2. Combine your boxes of cereal, cocktail peanuts, pretzel sticks and plain M & Ms in your empty popcorn tin. Mix them together using a wooden spoon.

3. Break up the white almond bark into chunks and place it in an extra-large microwavable bowl. Microwave the almond bark on high, stopping the microwave every 30 seconds to stir the melting almond bark. Continue to microwave the almond bark until it's completely melted.

4. A wooden spoon doesn't absorb the food's heat like a metal spoon.

Pour the melted white chocolate almond bark over the cereal mixture in the popcorn tin. Immediately stir the combination with your wooden spoon to evenly coat the cereal and snack mix with the melted white chocolate. Allow the white chocolate mixture to cool slightly in the tin with the lid off.

5. Cover your table with wax paper to prevent the mixture from sticking. Place the White Trash Party Mix on the wax paper and break large chunks into golf ball-sized pieces. Allow the snack mix to finish cooling on the wax paper.

6. Store your White Trash Party Mix in airtight containers away from heat.
