Make Roasted Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

Serve chicken wings as a light meal or hearty appetizer.

Many popular restaurant chains offer varieties of chicken wing appetizers and they have become a staple at Super Bowl parties, potlucks and buffet lines. Consider making wings for a tasty treat at your get-together. Purchase prepared versions or buy plain wings at your local grocery store and make them with different dipping sauces, seasonings or coatings for variety. This garlic Parmesan version provides a delicious flavor combination without being too spicy for most chicken wing fans.

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425 F. Remove the outer skin from each garlic bulb without peeling or separating the individual cloves. Cut the top off each bulb and brush the bulbs with olive oil. Wrap each bulb loosely in foil and roast for 30 minutes. Cool for 10 to 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375 F.

2. Prepare the coatings while the garlic is roasting. In a shallow bowl, mix the cracker crumbs, Parmesan cheese and basil. Set aside. In a second bowl, stir the melted butter and hot pepper sauce. When the roasted garlic is cooled, mince it very finely and mix into the butter.

3. Cut each chicken wing at the joint. Cut off and discard the wing tips. Dip each piece into the garlic sauce to coat completely. Then dip each sauced wing into the crumb mixture, covering the wing with the seasoned crumbs.

4. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and place the coated coated chicken wings on the baking sheet; drizzle with any remaining garlic sauce. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes.
