Prepare And Cook Summer Squash







Summer squash is delicious with any dish.


Summer squash varieties such as zucchini and yellow crook-neck are delicious when prepared fresh from your garden, or purchased at your local grocery store. You can prepare squash many different ways, It is an easy endeavor for even the novice cook. Whether you fry, bake, grill or stew it, summer squash adds texture and flavor to any dish.


Instructions


1. Slice the knobby ends from the summer squash type you chose to use in your dish.








2. Slice each squash variety into rings. Leave the rind on.


3. Add the sliced summer squash rings to a medium sized skilled. Turn the stove on a medium setting.


4. Drizzle in 2 tbsp. virgin olive oil. Shake on 1 tbsp. ground black pepper.


5. Dice an onion into small pieces and pile the pieces onto the mound of squash rings. Cover the pan and let it cook for 10 minutes.


6. Stir the browning mixture and let it cooked uncovered for an additional 5 minutes. Salt to taste and serve as a side dish.
