Store Sausage Cheddar Balls

Sausage cheddar balls make a delicious addition to appetizer trays, with the enjoyable combination of spicy sausage and sharp cheddar. Make these meatballs for a variety of different tastes, depending on the sausage you use and the other ingredients you add to the mixture. The "Betty Crocker Christmas Cookbook" suggests making sausage cheddar balls ahead of time and freezing them until you need them. You can also store sausage cheddar balls in the refrigerator for a short time before baking.

Instructions

1. Place the shaped meatballs onto baking sheets, spacing each meatball so they do not touch each other.

2. Place the meatballs on the baking sheets into the freezer. Leave the baking sheets in the freezer for about one hour until the sausage cheddar meatballs are firm.

3. Remove the meatballs from the freezer and place them into the shallow container.

4. Cover the container and write the date on the container.

5. Freeze the sausage cheddar meatballs for up to one month.

6. Remove the meatballs from the freezer and place the directly onto a baking sheet. Bake the frozen meatballs for between 25 and 30 minutes, until the sausage cooks completely and becomes lightly brown. Remove the meatballs from the oven and serve them warm.

7. Refrigerate any uneaten sausage cheddar meatballs for two or three days.
