Make Ahead Breakfast Layered Bread Ham And Eggs

When you plan a brunch for a crowd, making a few dishes in advance could mean the difference between enjoying your party or being exhausted before it begins. Many hot dishes can be prepared in advance, few any easier than this recipe for layered bread, ham and eggs. Add a pitcher of mimosas and a plate of fresh fruit and you've got a champagne brunch.

Instructions

1. Spray a 9 x 14 casserole dish with nonstick cooking oil.

2. Open the tubes of ready-to-bake biscuits, separate and roll each biscuit flat.

3. Place a layer of biscuits in the bottom of the oiled casserole dish.

4. Whip the eggs in a mixing bowl until smooth.

5. Pour half the eggs into the casserole dish.

6. Add half the cubed ham to the casserole.

7. Place another layer of the flattened biscuits atop the ham and egg mixture.

8. Pour the remaining eggs and ham onto the second layer of biscuit dough.

9. Season with salt, pepper, rosemary and garlic as desired.

10. Arrange the remaining biscuits on top and season with cracked peppercorns.

11. Cover the casserole and refrigerate until ready to bake.

12. Preheat oven to 325 while brushing 2 tbsp. melted butter or margarine over the dough surface of the casserole.

13. Bake 30 minutes, remove from oven and let set 5 minutes before serving.
