Season Popcorn

If you're tired of seasoning your popcorn with butter and salt, there are many other combinations of toppings you can use to lend your favorite snack a sweet, savory or spicy flavor. Follow these steps to give your popcorn a makeover.

Instructions

1. Make pizza-flavored popcorn by sauteing butter and garlic together, and then stirring in a pinch each of paprika and oregano. Toss the spices and the popcorn together, and then sprinkle the popcorn with Parmesan cheese to season it.

2. Melt some chocolate chips or other chocolate candy in the microwave, and then toss in with your warm popcorn for a sweet topping twist to a normally savory snack.

3. Create popcorn that tastes like a cinnamon roll without all the calories by dusting your lightly buttered popcorn with a mix of cinnamon and sugar.

4. Pour a small amount of ranch dressing over your popcorn to season it and toss to combine.

5. Cook up a cheese-lover's snack by mixing in the cheese from a box of macaroni and cheese with your warm and buttered popcorn.

6. Turn your plain popcorn into caramel corn by melting butter on a stove along with 3 tablespoons of water. Then, add to the mixture 1/4 of a cup of brown sugar and stir to combine. Pour over warm popcorn.

7. Try adding 2 to 3 teaspoons of Cajun seasoning topping to your popcorn for an added kick.

8. Season your popcorn with a peanut butter-flavored topping by melting 1/2 cup sugar and 1/3 cup corn syrup together in a pan on a stove, and then stirring in 1/2 cup peanut butter. Once the mixture is melted, remove it from the stove, and mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Pour over warm popcorn.
