Make 7 Layer Salad


Learn make a fantastic 7-layer salad. This dish is great for parties, holidays and special occasions.


Instructions








1. Assemble all the ingredients except for the frozen peas and begin prep work. Fry the 8 slices of bacon till crisp. When cooled, crumble into little pieces and set aside. Cut onion into thin slices and then separate into rings and set aside. Wash and chop tomatoes into pieces and set aside. Combine 1 cup Miracle Whip with 1 cup sour cream, set aside. Wash head of lettuce and tear into bite size pieces.


2. Take a baking dish (about 9 x 12 inches will do) and start to layer the lettuce, spreading it evenly over bottom. Spread chopped tomatoes over the lettuce layer. Place onion rings over the tomatoes. Remove the package of frozen peas from the freezer and spread them evenly over the onion layer.


3. Stir the salad dressing mix, adding 1 tablespoon of sugar or artificial sweetener, then salt and pepper to taste. Spread the mixture evenly over the top of the peas. Put the cheese over the dressing and then sprinkle with the bacon bits. Cover baking dish and refrigerate overnight. You can mix the salad prior to serving or just serve in layers.
