Make Easy Enchilada Sauce

So you have a hankering for some spicy enchiladas, but the pre-made powder mix for the sauce just doesn't do the trick. Spoon your enchilada sauce over rolled, stuffed tortillas, add it to burritos or tacos, pour it over nachos, or use it as a spicy dipping sauce for chips or veggies. For an extra spicy and colorful touch, garnish your Mexican dishes with jalapeno pepper slices.

Instructions

1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Slowly add the sifted flour, stirring well in order to create an even paste. Make sure that you work out any clumps for a smooth and perfect enchilada sauce.

2. Dissolve the beef bouillon granules into the water, then pour into the saucepan.

3. Add the chili powder and ground cumin. Go easy on the chili powder if you can't handle spicy foods. Stir in the chili powder a little at a time until you reach your desired spice level.

4. Simmer your easy enchilada sauce until it thickens to the desired consistency.
