Owned by an Orthodox Jew, Jin Glatt features over 150 items on its menus, including 15 veal dishes, any of which can be custom-made because every dish is prepared freshly and without MSG. Certificates on the wall attest to its kosher kitchen. The restaurant closes two hours before sundown Friday night and reopens after dusk on Saturday. Otherwise, it is open until 10:00 p.m. Jin Glatt uses veal the way non-kosher Chinese restaurants use pork. Veal flavors the restaurant's egg rolls and can be had in traditional Chinese dishes like Moo Shu. It offers steamed entrées in a "diet" section on the menu; but any dish can be steamed instead with any sauce on the side. Jin Glatt offers catering services as well and can specialize its dishes. The Jewish Press praises the "excellent Chinese cuisine" that passerbys may not presume would be available there given Jin Glatt's "unassuming storefront and décor."

Opened in 2004, the serves a full line of delicatessen standbys as well as chicken schnitzel, kasha, shlishkas, gefilte fish, knishes and matzo ball soup. The Main Ingredient also has a sushi bar with nine different cooked rolls, as well. A long double deli case greets you as you walk in. Restaurant seating is in the back. Takeout can be ordered at the deli case. The casual setting matches the home-cooked dishes. The Main Ingredient also caters anything from individual meals for the Sabbath day to a wedding reception. The restaurant closes three hours before dusk on Fridays and reopens Sunday.
