Homemade Frozen Lemonade

Frozen lemonade is consumed as a frozen cocktail containing alcohol such as vodka or as a nonalcoholic beverage, allowing for a sweet-flavored dessert. Homemade frozen lemonade is a cost- and time-effective refreshment, requiring minimal ingredients and taking approximately five minutes to create. Frozen lemonade is typically served during the summer months.

Instructions

Preparation

1. Cut six lemons in half width-wise using a chef's knife. Remove the seeds from each lemon. Squeeze the juice into a bowl. Measure out one cup of lemon juice and pour it into a blender.

2. Pour one cup of granulated sugar into the blender. Place the lid on the blender. Blend the lemon juice and sugar for 30 seconds until a simple syrup forms.

3. Pour two cups of cold water into the blender. Add 1/2 cup of ice. Set the blender to crush so that the ice breaks into chips, or blend on a high speed. Blend and remove the lid.

4. Pour two cups of water into the blender. Add 1/2 cup of ice. Pour six ounces of vodka (optional) into the blender. Blend the mixture on a high speed until a slushy texture forms. Pour the frozen lemonade into glasses.

5. Spray whipped cream onto the lemonade in a circular motion that outlines the top of the glass, if desired. Add fruit , such as slices of lemons, limes or oranges. Place the remaining frozen lemonade in the freezer for up to three days.
