Grind Chicken Breast At Home

Make your own chicken spread using a grinder.

If you own a food processor or an old-fashioned crank-driven food grinder, you can make deli-style chicken salad sandwiches, as well as ground chicken for burgers. Save money by creating your own restaurant-worthy chicken dishes at home for a fraction of the cost. Be sure to grind freshly cooked white meat chicken for the best texture and taste. Create a tasty sandwich spread by mixing the ground chicken with mayonnaise, celery and fruit such as dried cranberries, apples or grapes.

Instructions

1. Cut excess fat and any cartilage off the cooked chicken breast using a sharp knife.

2. Cut the trimmed chicken into 1-inch cubes.

3. Transfer the chicken cubes to a food processor. Pulse the food processor until the chicken is finely or coarsely ground, depending on what texture you prefer. As an alternative option, attach a crank-driven food grinder to the edge of a counter top or table. Equip the grinder with the appropriate plate, available in sizes from fine to coarse. Set a mixing bowl under the grinder to catch the ground meat. Place the chicken cubes into the grinder and turn the crank to grind the meat.

4. Scoop the ground chicken into a mixing bowl. Stir in any desired ingredients, such as mayonnaise, breadcrumbs or salt and pepper, depending on whether you're making chicken salad or burgers.
