Make A Thanksgiving Cranberry Sauce

This cranberry sauces is a simple sauce that can be made before serving your Thanksgiving meal. It may help to cook the sauce while your turkey is roasting in the oven, and two hours before your plan to serve your meal. You'll want to cool the sauce down before placing the sauce into a serving bowl. The cranberry mixture will then need to be placed into your refrigerator for at least an hour before your plan to serve your meal to finish chilling the sauce.

Instructions

Making the Sauce

1. Wash your bag of cranberries thoroughly in a colander. Remove any damaged cranberries, and discard them.

2. Put the cranberries into your cooking pot over medium heat. Add your juices, sugar and rum. You can use any flavored rum that your prefer. Although, orange and raspberry rums usually do best with this sauce.

3. Cook the cranberry mixture on medium heat until the mixture begins to bubble. Then turn the heat down to low.

4. Occasionally stir your cranberry mixture during the cooking process in order to not scorch your cooking pot. Watch your cranberry mixture to ensure that it doesn't boil over.

5. Cook the cranberries until the berries begin to burst open. Don't mush your berries, as you'll want to retain some of the texture of the berries.

6. Once the berries have finished popping open, remove them from the pot and place the berries into a serving bowl. Allow the berries to cool before placing the berries into your fridge.
