Make Decorative Vinegar Bottles With Herbs

Decorative herb vinegar bottles are fun to make.

You can find decorative vinegar bottles at many home decor stores. You can also make them at home in your own kitchen. Homemade decorative vinegar bottles are inexpensive, easy to put together and a great way to express your creativity. If you prepare them correctly, you can consume them too. Double up on the amount you make. Use a few for decorative purposes. Eat or give away the rest.

Instructions

1. Submerge your clean bottles, cork and lids in boiling water for 15 minutes to sterilize them. Skip this step if you do not intend to consume the herb vinegar.

2. Place sprigs of dried herbs into the vinegar bottle. Use a chopstick to arrange the sprig in the bottle. Limit each bottle to three to four 2-inch sprigs of herbs per cup of vinegar if you intend to consume the vinegar.

3. Heat the vinegar in a pot until it is warm, but not too hot to touch. Skip this step If you do not intend to consume the vinegar.

4. Pour the vinegar into the bottle to within 1/4 inch of its lip.

5. Place the cork or lid on the bottle tightly enough to prevent air from escaping.

6. Store herb vinegar bottles to be consumed in a dark, cool space for three to four weeks before consumption. Purely decorative vinegar herb bottles may be placed anywhere. A sunny window will highlight the beauty of the bottle and its contents.
