Fruit To Jello

Spruce up plain Jell-O by adding fruit to the mixture.

Jell-O is a sweet dessert that is available in a variety of flavors, including traditional cherry or grape and expanding into flavors such as strawberry daiquiri, berry blue and pineapple. You may choose to add fruits to the mix to give some crunch or added zing to your dessert selection. While some types of fruit aren't advisable for use in a gelatin dessert, you can successfully add such tasty treats as peaches, strawberries, blueberries and pears to your Jell-O dessert.

Instructions

1. Fill a small pan with at least 1 cup of water and place it over high heat on the stove until it boils. Pour the Jell-O gelatin packet into a medium bowl while the water heats.

2. Measure 1 cup of boiling water and stir it into the Jell-O powder until the powder is fully dissolved.

3. Measure 1 cup of cold water and stir it into the hot gelatin mixture. Place the bowl into the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours, until the Jell-O has begun to thicken.

4. Measure 3/4 to 1 1/2 cups of fruit, draining it completely if canned. Stir the fruit into the thickening Jell-O.

5. Replace the fruit-filled Jell-O into the refrigerator for another 4 hours.
