Make Macaroni And Crab Meat Salad

Pasta salad takes less than 15 minutes to prepare.

Macaroni and crab salad is a mayonnaise-based cold salad dish that typically uses imitation crab meat. Using something like lump claw meat tastes better and is more authentic but is more expensive than imitation crab, which is made from formed and cooked fish paste. As with most pasta salads, it is quick to make but does not keep long outside the refrigerator.

Instructions

1. Put on a gallon of salted water to boil and cover it. Mix the mayonnaise, crab meat, Italian dressing and vegetables in a stainless steel bowl, and put it in the refrigerator to chill for at least an hour. This melds the flavors and softens the raw vegetables.

2. Boil the pasta for 10 to 13 minutes until it reaches desired softness, then drain and rinse with cold water in a colander to stop the pasta from cooking further. Don't allow the pasta to completely drain because it will begin to clump together.

3. Incorporate the pasta into the chilled mixture of mayo, crab, vegetables and spices. Add more salt and pepper to taste, and if using real crab, incorporate some of the lemon juice.
