Clean Leather With Vinegar

Many leather cleaners and conditioners are available, but they can be pricey. Save money by learning clean your leather products using a homemade solution. Plain old vinegar has many uses, and cleaning leather is one of them. The following easy steps will show you clean leather products with vinegar.


Instructions


General Stain Removal


1. Use a cloth to wipe away any spills and remove any solid debris. Make sure to use a clean, white, lint-free cloth.


2. Mix in a spray bottle or in a jar with a tight-fitting lid, one part white distilled vinegar and two parts raw or food-grade linseed oil.








3. Spray the vinegar mixture onto a clean, dry cloth. Use a swirling motion to apply the vinegar mixture all over the leather. Add more vinegar to the cloth as needed. Replace the cloth with a new, clean one each time it becomes soiled.


4. Allow the mixture to sit on the leather overnight for best results, and then use a new clean, dry cloth to buff the leather.

5. Use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to wipe away any solid particles on the leather product.


6. Mix in a spray bottle one part white distilled vinegar with one part water.


7. Apply the vinegar mixture with a clean, dry cloth.


8. Use the cloth to dab at the spot. Repeat as needed until the stain is gone.
