Make A Kryptonite Drink

The Kryptonite cocktail was named after the only substance on Earth, or any other planet, that could weaken Superman. After one of these, you’ll know exactly how it got its name. The drink packs a definite wallop, but that’s not the only thing it shares in common with its namesake. After mixing it the drink takes on a bright green color, the same color as Kryptonite in the old Superman comics. This melon flavored drink looks great in everything from a martini glass to a tumbler, but before pouring the drink, you need to know make it.

Instructions

1. Place a shaker on the table or counter and fill it full with ice. You’ll need this in just a moment to mix up your drink.

2. Fill a small shot glass nearly to the top with melon liqueur and pour it into the shaker. This is what gives the drink its bright green color.

3. Repeat the previous step with the coconut rum, spiced rum and pineapple juice. Fill the shot glass with each liquid and pour it into the shaker. The pineapple juice will help take out some of the bitterness of the alcohol.

4. Add a splash of vodka to the top of the shaker. The vodka works to mellow out some of the other strong flavors in this drink and mixes well with the acidity from the pineapple juice.

5. Put the lid on your shaker and give it a good strong shake until all the ingredients are combined. If you notice streaks in the drink, give it a few more shakes.

6. Strain the Kryptonite drink into a glass. If a few pieces of ice make their way into the glass, it will just make the drink a little colder.
