Easy Halloween Recipes To Make With Preschool Children

Caramel apples are a fun Halloween treat.

If you have preschool-age children and want to get them in the spirit of Halloween, then make recipes that celebrate the upcoming holiday. This will not only teach them about some of the common symbols associated with Halloween, but they will also be able to eat what they create.

Pumpkin Face Tortilla

As a lunchtime treat or after-school snack, create a pumpkin face tortilla with your preschooler. Simply have him spread cheddar cheese on a flour tortilla until it is orange like a pumpkin face. Next, allow him to use precut vegetables such as tomatoes and olives to make a facial design on the pumpkin. Microwave or bake the tortilla until the cheese is melted. Allow it to cool and serve.

Halloween Popcorn

Make popcorn on the stove top or in the microwave. After it has cooled, allow your preschooler to add her favorite Halloween candy to the mix. Candy corn, caramels and special Halloween candies produced by the candy manufacturers can all be added to the mix. Just be sure the candy is unwrapped. You can also store this treat in a sealed bag or container for snack time later in the week.

Halloween Cookies

There are several manufacturers found in supermarket chains that make Halloween cookies that merely need to be separated and baked. These cookies will have Halloween symbols such as ghosts, goblins, witches and pumpkins. Your child can help you open the package, separate the cookies and grease the cookie sheet. Turn on the oven light so she can watch them bake.
