Make Quick Greattasting Salsa And Taco Sauce

Whip up a batch of salsa or taco sauce at home.

Using a store-bought salsa or taco sauce is okay, but making your own is almost as easy and tastes much better. This recipe includes fresh sweet onions, which impart a sweet flavor that's delicious. You can leave your salsa chunky or blend it into a sauce you can pour over your tacos.

Instructions

1. Open a can of diced tomatoes with mild green chilies and pour them into a medium-sized bowl. If you like a hotter salsa, use a can of diced tomatoes that includes regular or hot chilies.

2. Dice the sweet onion into small pieces. Add 2 tablespoons of the diced onion to the tomatoes.

3. Add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and stir all the ingredients well. If you like your salsa chunky, you're done. If you like your salsa a bit smoother, mash the tomatoes with a fork a little until you get your salsa just how you like it.

4. Pour the bowl of salsa into a blender or food processor if you prefer a very thin salsa or want to make taco sauce. Pulse the salsa a few times until it's the desired consistency.
