Make A Margarita Using Store Bought Mix

Blend margarita mix with ice instead of water for a frozen treat.

Margaritas are a flavorful and vibrant alcoholic drink synonymous with friends and parties. The margarita became popular among the cocktail party crowd sometime between the late 1940s and early 1950s. In 2011, margarita mixes come in a variety of flavors, from mango and raspberry to lime and lemon. Serve in a martini glass with a rim of salt and a slice of lime for maximum flavor and flare.

Instructions

1. Glide a wedge of lime around the rim of your glass. Place the glass upside down in a wide bowl of salt and spin the base so the salt sticks to the lime juice on the rim. Secure a twisted slice of lime to the edge of each glass.

2. Combine tequila, cointreau, lime juice and margarita mix in a chilled cocktail shaker.

3. Shake combined ingredients vigorously for 30 seconds in the shaker or blend with 1/4 cup of ice in the blender for the same amount of time.

4. Pour the drink into large martini glasses, leaving approximately 1-inch of space between the top of the drink and the glass rim. Add ice cubes if you did not blend the drink with ice already.
