Make Raspberry Lavender Vinegar


Make some raspberry lavender vinegar and you'll have a ready-to-use gourmet treat to add to your favorite salad dressing, or to drizzle over fresh fruit. Raspberry lavender vinegar smells delicious. When you put it in a decorative decanter, it makes a charming gift.


Instructions


Raspberry Lavender Vinegar


1. Put 1 cup of fresh raspberries in 2 (1-qt.) jars and set it aside.


2. Place 4 cups of white wine vinegar in a stainless steel saucepan, and add 1/3 cup of sugar and 1 sprig of lavender.


3. Heat the mixture, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves, but don't allow it to boil.


4. Pour the hot vinegar and sugar mixture over the raspberries in the jar, and mash them with a potato masher or fork.


5. Cover the jar with plastic wrap and attach the lid securely. Place the jar in a cool, dark place and leave it for 3 weeks. Shake the jar daily.








6. Pour the strained lavender vinegar in decorative bottles or jars, and put a sprig of lavender in each bottle or jar. Use in cooking as desired.


7. Use the raspberry lavender vinegar in cooking as desired.


Easy Lavender Vinegar


8. Place 3 cups of red wine vinegar and 3 tbsp. of dried lavender buds in a stainless steel saucepan.


9. Bring the mixture to a boil.


10. Remove the lavender vinegar from the heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.


11. Strain the lavender vinegar into a glass container with a tight fitting lid.


12. Stir in 10 drops of raspberry essential oil.


13. Store the raspberry lavender vinegar in the refrigerator and use it as desired.
