Use Dry Rub Spices When Deep Frying A Turkey

Use Dry Rub Spices When Deep Frying a Turkey

Deep frying turkeys makes them incredibly moist and delicious. Inject the turkey with marinade a few days before frying it. Add a dry rub to the outside of the turkey just before frying it to add more flavor. Follow manufacturer instructions for turkey deep fryers. Never attempt to deep fry a turkey indoors, including in garages or sheds.

Instructions

1. Defrost the turkey in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days before deep frying. Inject marinade in the turkey 2 days before cooking. Place it back in the refrigerator until cooking time.

2. Add all ingredients in a small bowl. Mix the spices until they are well combined.

3. Remove the turkey from the refrigerator and place it on a clean cutting board or platter.

4. Apply the dry rub spices to the outside of the turkey. Rub them into the skin well. Cover the entire surface of the turkey with spices, including the legs and wings. Rub excess spices into the inner cavity of the turkey.

5. Preheat the oil in the deep fryer. Place the turkey in the refrigerator until the oil is completely heated.

6. Deep fry the turkey following the manufacturer instructions. Cook the turkey thoroughly to kill all bacteria living in the poultry. Do not eat undercooked poultry.
