Make Bowls Out Of Parmesan Cheese

Make Bowls Out of Parmesan Cheese

Amaze your guests with homemade edible bowls made out of Parmesan cheese. You can do this using only one ingredient: Parmesan cheese. This aged, hard grating cheese contains a moisture content low enough to prevent it from bubbling as it melts, unlike other cheeses such as cheddar or Swiss. While these bowls will not stand up to servings of liquids or heavy foods, you can serve a light salad in them as long as the cheese bowls rest on a plate.

Instructions

1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Place the parchment paper on top of a baking pan. Turn the bowl upside down on the paper.

3. Draw an outline of the bowl on the parchment with a pencil.

4. Remove the bowl and sprinkle ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese into the outline of the bowl on the parchment.

5. Transfer the baking pan to the oven and cook for 7 to 10 minutes or until the cheese turns slightly golden.

6. While the cheese cooks, spray the exterior bottom of the overturned bowl with cooking spray.

7. Pick up each cheese circle from the parchment paper with a spatula. Drape each one over one of the prepared bowls, letting the cheese conform to the shape of the bowl.

8. Let each one cool completely so the cheese hardens into the shape of the bowl, about 10 to 15 minutes.

9. Gently lift the hardened cheese bowl from the glass bowl and turn right side up to fill with lightweight, non-liquid items.
