Low Calorie High Energy Foods

Many of us want to eat healthier, but we find it hard when we aren't sure which foods will benefit us the most. There are multiple foods you can eat that are low in calories but also provide you with energy. This means you can have a quick snack and then get back to your day without feeling sluggish or regretting all the calories you just consumed.

Cereal High in Fiber

A whole grain cereal that contains no more than 6 grams of sugar is a great low-calorie, high-energy food. Mix your favorite whole grain cereal with skim milk. You can also boost your energy level even further by adding some fresh fruit.

Apples

Apples are a great choice when you want something low in calories that will also give you some energy. You can eat a plain apple or you can spice things up by dipping it in peanut butter or even cinnamon.

Peanut Butter

You can add a tablespoon of peanut butter to crackers or even a banana for a quick pick-me-up without worrying about counting calories. This great tasting snack will give you a boost of energy and leave you feeling satisfied.

Leafy Greens

Leafy green vegetables are a great choice for low-calorie foods. They are healthy and also help supply energy to your body, leaving you feeling refreshed and ready to begin again. These leafy greens include but are not limited to kale, arugula and even spinach.

Nuts and Seeds

Both of these should be ingested raw to reap the benefits you are seeking. Such seeds and nuts include pecans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and almonds.
