Serve Chicken Biryani

This delicious "meal in a meal" has become a favorite the world over with its fresh and tantalizing aromas and combination of exotic colors and flavors. Serve chicken biryani the right way to get the most out of your dish and have everyone begging for more.

Instructions

1. Leave the biryani pot covered until everyone sits down at the table. Chicken biryani tastes best when it is still steaming and this way combines all the flavors. Keep it hot and covered until the last minute when you are ready to serve.

2. Take off the lid and allow the smells to penetrate the air. Many chefs perform this trick to increase their guests' anticipation and appetite. The cardamom pods and fresh cilantro in the dish create the strong aromas and the vegetables and saffron are responsible for the combination of different colors.

3. Use a large spoon to mix the rice underneath with the layer of chicken mixture on top. Mix thoroughly until you have combined all the ingredients and the rice is evenly distributed throughout and doesn't have any "pockets."

4. Taste the rice to ensure that it is cooked through and not crispy or chewy in places. A good chef always taste checks the food before serving and you can address any issues with an extra pinch of spice or a few more moments of cooking if necessary.

5. Place the bowl in the center of the table and serve in heaped spoonfuls on to plates. The biryani has all the ingredients of a hearty and filling meal by itself but you can add a little yogurt for extra sauce or scoop up the mixture with some naan bread for the extra hungry.
