Serve your guests some Halloween sweet and sour eyeballs and watch for the look on their faces when they see that their dinner is looking back at them. Sweet and sour eyeballs are actually savory little meatballs in a tangy sweet and sour sauce. They'll make a delightful entree for your Halloween dinner.
Instructions
1. Break the eggs into a small bowl and whisk them a few times.
2. Place the ground beef in a bowl.
3. Blend in the beaten eggs, and then add the breadcrumbs, salt and freshly ground pepper.
4. Shape the meat mixture into meatballs about 1-inch in diameter and place a green olive slice in the middle of each one.
5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet and saute the meatballs, stirring to be sure all sides are cooked.
6. Mix the grape jelly and the chili sauce. Pour the mixture over the meatballs and simmer for about 25 to 30 minutes on medium-low heat. Turn the meatballs occasionally to be sure they cook evenly.
7. Transfer the sweet and sour "eyeballs" to a serving bowl and serve hot.
