The Best Way To Fix Venison

Venison roast with potatoes

Like any red meat, venison can be prepared a variety of ways. The cut of the meat, roast, steaks or burger, will determine the best way to cook venison for eating. In most cases, venison can be prepared the same way as any lean beef. For burgers or sausage, the addition of pork shoulder of beef suet will make for a better tasting burger. Like beef, venison should be cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees F.

Instructions

Best Way to Cook Steaks

1. Fry three to four slices of bacon in a heavy skillet. Remove the bacon to paper towels to drain, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet.

3. Fry the steaks in the bacon fat until done. Rare venison will read 145 degrees F on a meat thermometer, while medium will read 160 degrees F and well done will read 170 degrees F or higher.
