Freeze Cooked Quiche

Quiche that is already baked can be frozen.

Quiche is an egg custard that is baked in the oven with bacon, mushrooms, spinach and a variety of other ingredients. Once baked, quiche can be frozen as long as you use the correct technique for removing any large pockets of air, which can dry out the quiche and affect the taste.

Instructions

1. Allow the quiche to cool completely at room temperature. If you wish to freeze the quiche in individual slices, cut it into triangular wedges.

2. Wrap the quiche, or each individual slice, with plastic wrap. This will form a layer around the quiche to protect it from freezer burn.

3. Add a layer of aluminum foil to keep the plastic wrap tightly in place.

4. Place the quiche into a gallon-sized freezer bag, and seal all but an inch of the bag. Press any lingering air out with your hands, and seal the rest of the bag.

5. Set the quiche in the freezer. When you wish to eat it, the quiche can be immediately warmed in the microwave, without the need for thawing.
