Reseal A Potato Chip Bag

Keep potato chips away from sunlight to maintain their freshness.

When a salty snack craving strikes, many people satisfy it with potato chips. In fact, the National Potato Council estimates that in 2010, each United States potato chip consumer ate 17 pounds of potato chips. Many snack food enthusiasts are familiar with the disappointment of reaching into a bag of chips only to discover that their favorite salty snack has been reduced to stale blandness. Preventing such disappointment does not require any fancy kitchen gadgets. "Chip clips" are still the fastest, easiest, cheapest and most effective means for resealing potato chip bags.

Instructions

1. Set the potato chip bag upright on a flat surface.

2. Gently tap the bag on the flat surface until all of the potato chips have fallen to the bottom of the bag.

3. Place one hand on the front of the bag and one hand on the back just above the potato chips.

4. Push the two sides together and slide your hands up to the top of the bag to remove any excess air.

5. Fold the top of the bag over and down about one inch. Continue to fold the top edge down in one inch increments until the folded-over top is about one inch above the potato chips.

6. Clip a potato chip clip onto the top of the folded-over bag to keep it securely closed.
