Increase your ticket sales using several strategies.
Ticket sales are critical to the success of any event, whether it's a concert, a film screening or an educational conference. Get the word out about your event using advertising strategies like social media outlets, which are inexpensive, environmentally-friendly, and will reach a wide audience. Then use contests, giveaways and special pricing to entice customers to purchase tickets to your event.
Social Media
Use various social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter to generate some extra buzz about your upcoming event. This method will cut costs that print advertising might rack up, and it also provides an environmentally-friendly option that doesn't waste resources like posting flyers might. Social media outlets also tend to reach large amounts of people fairly easily, especially since readers can quickly share the important details with friends and family by simply sending them a link. If you are hosting a large event, start a blog to keep potential customers in the loop about how the planning and execution is progressing.
Early Bird Price
Establish a lowered early bird rate to encourage customers to start purchasing tickets in advance. Include the price that the tickets will cost after the cutoff date for the special rate, or simply state that prices will increase after a certain point. Plan these specials in several staggered hikes, with the day of the event being the moment when ticket prices are at their peak, assuming they haven't sold out prior to that date. If your event is spread out over a few days, consider pushing a package deal in which customers who purchase tickets for multiple days get a special discount.
Contests
Use contests to generate some more publicity for your event. Use your social media platforms to promote a ticket giveaway; for instance, if you use Twitter, state that anyone who re-tweets your message will be entered for a chance to win a ticket to the event. Also tap into local radio stations to do an on-air giveaway in which callers have a chance to win a ticket for free, or do some other kind of contest like a silly physical challenge or competition. Only give away one ticket to each winner; this will encourage his friends to purchase their own tickets to accompany him to the event.
Giveaways
Free gear is always enticing to potential ticket buyers, so exploit this in your event planning. Solicit local businesses for donations of door prizes for the guests of the event to entice potential customers. State in your advertisements or event information that all ticket buyers will be automatically entered into these giveaways. Similarly, you can offer specials like a free drink, meal or open bar to increase the likelihood that people will want to buy tickets to your event.
