Make Curtains For A Van

Panel curtains

Vans have large windows that let in a lot of light. If you would like a way to regulate the amount of light coming through the windows with a permanent fixture, then these curtains will help you do that. They are simple to make and you can find the tools to make them in most craft stores.

Instructions

1. Measure the window's length and width.

2. Add six inches to the length of the window and six inches to the width. This is the amount of fabric you will need for the window. For example, if your window is 10 inches by 10 inches, you should have a 16-inch by 16-inch piece of fabric.

3. Cut your fabric into two panels. One curtain panel will be half the width of the window plus three inches, and the length of the window plus six inches.

4. Hem the edges of the fabric. Do this by folding the edge of the fabric one inch inwards, then folding it again. Sew along the edge of the fold so that it doesn't come undone. Any stitch will do, but a simple in-and-out hem stitch is best.

5. Sew the hook side of the Velcro along the top of the curtain on the back.

6. Super-glue the loop side of the Velcro to the top edge of the window.

7. Repeat Step 3 through Step 7 for the other side of the window.

8. Pull back the curtains with ribbon or a curtain pullback.
