Guests are supplied with pottery, craft items like fabric and scraps, as well as paints to create their own piece of art that they can keep. This all-inclusive package includes raw materials, brushes and paints, use of portable pottery ovens and glazing materials and help from a party host from the studio. Packages and prices vary due to materials requested and the number of children attending the party. For an additional cost of $4 per child, as of April 2010, the studio can bring a handcrafted goody bag filled with candy. This is a great way to bring creative ideas to a party at home, without having to do any of the set up or clean up.

Children's Science Parties at Home or on Location

Mad Science of McHenry Country brings science and entertainment to a child's birthday party and is a fun teaching tool for inquisitive little minds. This company comes to the child's home or to a restaurant, community center or other venue as long as a private room is available. Experiments and magic are incorporated by actors in a safe environment that encourages kids to explore science while having a lot of fun. Magic tricks are performed that have scientific explanations and fireworks and lightning are explored. Parties are recommended for children aged 4 and older and last approximately one hour with active participation from children encouraged. Pump It Up is a bounce house party venue at Crystal Lake, about 10 minutes from Algonquin. This company offers inflatable bounce houses, slides, and obstacle courses which are safe for toddlers, as well as older kids. Packages are available and prices vary, depending on the guest count and food requirements. A host is provided who helps with set up, food distribution and gift opening and takes care of all cleaning after the party. Bounce time is always before the food and gift opening events, and guests may not return to the bounce area after eating. Food and beverages may be brought from the outside (check for exceptions due to allergies or health regulations) as well as birthday cake. All guests are required to sign a waiver against injury and must also watch a short safety video before bouncing. Socks are required.
